It's a snow day!!!

Woke up this morning to the pleasant site of the first snowfall of the season.  I already knew the schools were closed thanks to a 5:30 AM call from the district. Days like this I am completely thankful for working from home.  I don't have to dig out my car and drive on slippery roads.  The snow flakes are really big this morning. It's almost like the flakes are determined to cover everything in it's site. I took this morning to trick the kids in letting them think they overslept and missed the bus.  I went into each one of their rooms and said, "oh my gosh you are still sleeping we have to get on the bus".  The first reaction from the oldest was, "please I knew there was no school about two hours ago"thanks to social media site Instagram.

Moving on to the next bedroom, my son.  I say, " oh my gosh you are still sleeping we have to get on the bus".  He looked up at me and just smiled as to say, "I don't care and this is hysterical we missed the bus...YES!!! He didn't believe me and he also didn't really seem to care....boys..........Then I started laughing and said, "just kidding, look out side".  He was extremely happy to see all the snow.  Hopefully I can get him to shovel this morning.

Moving on to the next bedroom, my little daughter.  I say, " oh my gosh you are still sleeping we have to get on the bus". Her little eyes went really wide and looked at me like I was crazy.  Then she jumps up out of bed looking to do something to get herself ready.  Now, that is the reaction I was hoping and looking for.  She says to me, "are you serious", and starts moving around me.  I should have kept it going but I felt bad to keep it going.  So, I said........"look at the window",.............Her little eyes wide open says, "WOW that's a lot of snow out there there is no school"...........

Now they have this whole day to something productive or fun.  But they all don't seem to really want to get out of bed.  I mean who can blame them, this is a great day to sleep in.  When we all finally decide to get up maybe a movie is in store for us.  I guess the disadvantage of working from home is, I can't use the excuse I can't get to work today because the weather is bad and traveling will be dangerous today.  I don't mind I at all I will feel like I have had a more productive day when I get some work done.  My next challenge will be how to get the children to by somewhat quiet so I can actually get some work done.  A movie is a great idea.  Maybe they will want to watch Frosty the Snowman?  They use to love this movie when they were younger.  Here is a clip below:

This is such a classic fun movie.  I use to so look forward to watching this when I was younger.  Of course now you can download this movie at anytime whenever you want.  I remember when I was younger I had to wait for around the holidays to get to see this movie.  Imagine waiting a whole year to see a movie.  Kids now have all this technical and easily have more access to anything within an instance.
I am sure Frosty The Snowman will not be the movie for today.  I think the kids are looking for a movie more like the Hunger Games.  I don't mind I love this movie and just saw the second one in the movies.

Let's go with this photo for today, very fitting for the day!!!
